- Landmen for one of the large operators in the Fort Worth Barnett field have recently acquired waivers for the instalation of multiple ( up to as many as 30 ) High Impact, oh we do not use that term anymore too offensive to the industry. wells within 600 ft of a protected use in this case residential homes. The problem with this master plan was that it took one high impact well and a controversial pipeline route off the plan which affected high income well to do's who fought for 2 years not to give waivers, ONLY at the sacrifice of low to moderate many Spanish speaking only property owners in a less affluent setting with the impossition of 18 wells proposed for one location and 12 at the another. The problem was that waivers where obtained through deceit. Landmen that mistated the location of the wells, telling signers that they signed a lease and needed to sign the waiver to proceed to acquiring their royalties through a producing well ( not true ) Public notices of public hearings in ENglish only when over 40% of the people could not read or some even speak English. Many waivers where granted by slum landlords or ignorance to the true facts themselves living out of stae in several circumstances. The tatcics are ruthless and imposing when landmen state to the less affluent without the means to legal consult " That you must sign or if you don't it does not matter. " Anyone who has been down these roads know these tactics are real and unjust. Politicians stand by and allow this unfair practice by speaking for those they feel have an impact on their election, those of means. rather than for justice and fairness.
